Chico State Basic Needs Project provides supplemental food, meals, emergency grants, housing, referral services, financial wellness training, and more for students experiencing food insecurity, hunger, displacement, homelessness, and poverty. Research shows 50% of Chico State students (nearly 8,000 students) experience food insecurity. This is a major barrier to student success.
This semester we are seeing a greater need than ever before! The food pantry has had over 5,800 visits to the food pantry since the beginning of the school year, which is THREE TIMES what we typically see during this time. Students need support from the Basic Needs Project more then ever, and it's up to donors like us to make sure their needs are met.
Because of the record need among Wildcats, an anonymous alumnus has offered a $20,000 matching gift to ensure the most students are served. We will have a number of matches running throughout the day on Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday - check out our matching gift page here and help make sure no money is left on the table!
The Basic Needs Project is powered by you!
When you support the Basic Needs Project, you're making a difference in the lives of many Chico State students and joining a tradition of giving back.
